Dr Sanae Dr Abakka (MRCOG Part 3)

20 Jun 2023

I am very happy to share this testimonial after I have passed the MRCOG ; It took me quite a while to start writing it, as my journey with BeMRCOG started off in 2020, and I was afraid not to do Asma enough justice.. I came across the BeMRCOG website by chance, thankfully, as I’m an IMG and I was looking for a renowned online preparation course for the MRCOG ; The design of the website and the various courses and workshops offered attracted me instantly and I subscribed without any hesitation. My first experience was the Group practice course back in 2020 (July-August), that introduced me to the whole concept of the exam ; Actually the advice, tips, modules’ flashcards, methodology and literally the philosophy of this new approach of teaching of Asma helped understand the mindset of the modules, therefore allowing to perform well in any station in the exam even if the topic was little or not known at all. This in itself is a great achievement of this course. And not to forget the lovely moderators Ummarah and Meeta whose feedbacks helped in improving the way I dealt with the scenarios, and avoiding pitfalls. Afterwards, I enrolled in the workshops, starting with the Communication skills Workshop, then the Information gathering workshop, Empathy workshop, Clinical Governance workshop, Interpersonal Skills Workshop, and later on the master course. These all shaped my approach not only to the exam, but sincerely to my day to day practice, which reflected in the positive feedbacks I received from my own patients. And this is something unique to BeMRCOG and Asma and for which I am deeply grateful. I also subscribed to the 1 to 1 sessions with Asma, which I must confess were a little stressful especially at the beginning, but I realized that they offer an unbeatable platform for practising, with valuable personalized feedbacks. Moreover, Asma is also a talented actress since she moves from a simulated patient to another, putting you in the real setting of the exam. In fact, on D-day, you get the feeling of déjà vu, so you feel comfortable while performing and perform even better. Finally, my take home message and advice is to join the beMRCOG family, as I believe it is the royal path to the MRCOG. Wishing you all the best of luck, and thank you beMRCOG !
