I am Razan Abukhaizaran from Palestine. I did all my clinical training in obstetrics and gynecology in Palestine. I have never done any clinical work in the UK. To the best of my knowledge, no one from Palestine has applied for this exam in the last years with no UK practice. Therefore, this exam was a real challenge to me. Due to the hard work and BeMRCOG as well as dedication of Asma, I was able to pass my first attempt with a score of 82%. In this letter, I will talk about my experience and how I prepared for this exam. I heard a lot about BeMRCOG and decided to give it a try. After my first meeting with Asma, I decided that I would commit myself to this group and follow her advice. So, I signed up for the ultimate package courses and started attending various courses such as communication, information gathering, and empathy workshops. After that, I realized that an important key to passing this exam was to follow the consultation model, ICE, and listening to patients. This was so true that through my real exam in one of the stations one of the patients thanked me for being understanding and emphatic. An important remaining part for me was to know more about the NHS system in the UK, which was beautifully illustrated in the audiobook. We call it the masterpiece. All the topics of previous recalls expected questions and reactions from role players in different scenarios were also nicely explained. My final preparation was to practice what I have learned. I was able to do that by joining the Smart intensive course, one-to-one sessions, and finally attending the mock circuit workshop. I am glad to say that through our group practice I met these wonderful people from all over the world who were also helpful and supportive during this stressful period. Finally, I would say I feel so lucky I knew about BeMRCOG. I believe that, through your group, Palestine will be soon full of MRCOG people.
